RedisQueue.stop() method

Stops consuming messages by tearing down this instance's reader connection.

Signature:

stop(): Promise<RedisQueue>;

Returns:

Promise<RedisQueue>

this queue instance

Remarks

The queue remains usable as a producer: the shared writer, any held watcher lock, the watcher-check and maintenance intervals, the subscription connection and the process signal handlers all stay in place, and RedisQueue.start() can resume consumption. Use RedisQueue.destroy() to release resources — an instance that is only stopped stays registered in a process-wide registry and is not garbage-collected.

The reader socket is dropped immediately rather than closed with a graceful QUIT, so Redis stops treating it as a consumer at once and cannot hand it a message the torn-down read loop would drop.
